Hi all,
I just started with scrapbooking, but... I live in Europe and we don't have such a tradition and therefor not much stores wich have scrapbookmaterials. I found many nice sites/scrapbooks on the net and I knew that's what I wanted to do with my pictures.
Since it's not easy to get scrapbook materials where I live, I was wondering what kind of things you all use for your books. But things that are not sold in stores. You know, stuff you have lying around in the house or things you make yourself.

My first book, I used only paper. It was a very simple first-try-book hehe. But now I want to make something more special.
So, any idea is welcome :)

Well, I am a scrapbooker, ubt I have a lot of tools, papers, stickers, and different things like that.
But putting a ton of decoration on a page loses interest in the pictures. OSs any little stickers or papers with a design or just little stuff that makesthe page look alright teogether.
I hope you found this intersting.
write back if you have more questions!!!!!

You can always look for a Creative Memories consultant. I think that company is pretty much world wide.

I mainly use cardstock, ribbon and eyelets on my page. If you can get a Quickutz or a Sizzex machine, then you can make your own die cuts and letters. That way you won't have to worry so much about stickers.

is the quickutz or sizzez machines really worth the investment? I worry that I would never use the same die cut for more then one project.... what do you think?

When using paper, cut or tear the paper to make different shapes and borders for your pages. It gives it a little more pizzazz and can draw the eye to pictures.

Things I use around the house.....food wrappers (ex: my baby's first real spaghetti dinner, I used a wrapper from a jar of spaghetti sauce on the page), ribbons to make bows (ribbon is very cheap at the craft store), postcards you might have laying around work too. Cutting pictures from magazines to make a collage for the background page is good as well.

You can basically use anything....the possibilities are limitless!

I like collaging with bits and pieces of interesting stuff with torn edges....sheet music, bits of city maps, newspapers in different languages, dried flowers, pressed leaves, seed packets, tea bag wrappers, etc. i like working on corners and borders first, and working my way inwards...leaving a nice open space in the middle
